Why Use Trouser Braces?
The problem: when the thigh pockets of work trousers carrying tools fill up, the trousers pull down. Staff hitch their trousers up all day, tighten their belts, and pressure builds around the waist.
Braces move this load from the waist to the shoulders. The trousers stay in place and there is no need to tighten the belt.
Mars Wear produces them in your company colour and with your logo from a minimum of 100 pieces; standard delivery is 15 working days.
Belt or Braces?
They do not do the same job and are often used together:
A belt holds the trousers by tightening them at the waist. Fine for light loads. But if the pockets are full, tightening the belt puts the load around the waist; over a long shift it causes discomfort in the waist and abdomen and restricts sitting down and getting up.
Braces hold the trousers by hanging them from the shoulders. The waist is left free. For teams carrying heavy tools and bending and straightening all day, they make a clear difference.
A simple rule: if the pockets are light, a belt is enough; if they are always full, braces. Most field teams use both — the belt positions the trousers, the braces carry the load.
We cover the belt side separately on our work belt page.
What to Look For in Braces
- Attachment type. Clip-on braces fit any trousers but can slip on thick fabric. Button-on braces hold more securely but need buttons on the trousers. In a corporate order, producing the trousers with brace buttons is the most robust solution.
- Back construction. An X back spreads the load evenly across both shoulders. A Y back is less bulky, but the load concentrates at one point. For heavy use we recommend X.
- Width. Narrow braces leave marks on the shoulders. The heavier the load, the wider the braces should be.
- Stretch. Braces with no stretch at all restrict bending; braces that do not hold at all are useless. Partial elastic is the right balance.
A Safety Note
Braces are a strap system worn over the body. For teams working next to moving machinery, the braces must stay under the jacket and not hang loose on the outside. Loosely worn, hanging braces carry the same entanglement risk as a scarf.
In a corporate order we recommend braces that can be adjusted to each wearer; correctly adjusted braces sit close to the body.
Which Teams Are They For?
- Technical service and field teams — carrying tools, measuring instruments and phones
- Site trades and workshops — carpenters, plumbers, formwork crews
- Electrical and telecoms field teams
- Warehousing and logistics — staff carrying handheld terminals and scanners
- Staff with lower back problems — takes away the pressure of a belt
Frequently Ordered Together

Ordering and Care
Our minimum order is 100; shipping within Türkiye and abroad.
- Wash at 30 °C; remove metal parts if they detach.
- Do not tumble dry; elastic straps lose their stretch in heat.
- When the clip teeth wear, the braces start to slip — replace them.
- If the elastic strap no longer returns to its original shape, it can no longer carry the load.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are they used instead of a belt? Usually together. The belt positions the trousers, the braces move the load to the shoulders. If the pockets are always full, braces are needed.
Clip-on or button-on? Clip-on fits any trousers but can slip on thick fabric. Button-on is more secure; producing the trousers with brace buttons is the most robust solution.
X back or Y back? X for heavy loads — it spreads the load evenly across both shoulders. Y is less bulky, but the load concentrates at one point.
Can they be worn near machinery? Yes, but they must stay under the jacket and not hang loose. Loosely worn braces carry an entanglement risk.
What is your minimum order? 100 pieces.
