About Logistics and Warehouse Workwear

Two things decide clothing in warehousing and logistics: forklift traffic and temperature differences.

Visibility here is a different problem from a construction site. In a warehouse speeds are low but sight lines are narrow — between racks, around corners and behind the load. For a forklift driver to notice staff, a high-visibility top that complies with EN ISO 20471 is needed; even when aisle lighting seems adequate, reflective tape does its real work in partial darkness and in the shadow of the load. Class 2 is enough for most indoor warehouses; for open yards, loading docks and night dispatch, go up to Class 3.

Temperature difference is the second, less discussed issue. In the same shift staff move from inside a heated warehouse to an open loading dock and from there to a cold chain area. One heavy jacket is right for none of these transitions: it makes staff sweat indoors and is no use outdoors because it has been taken off. The right answer is layering — a thermal base layer, a half-zip sweatshirt or fleece mid-layer, and a removable outer layer. Half-zip styles and models with detachable sleeves are especially useful for this team, because they allow warmth to be adjusted without taking the garment off.

Movement is the third criterion. A team that carries boxes, reaches and bends all day needs a pattern with stretch allowance, not a loose cut. A jacket that pinches at the waist and shoulders is worn open after the first hour and loses its protective function.

On footwear, toe protection is standard because of the risk of falling loads; in facilities with wet floors and dock transitions, the slip-resistance class of the sole should also be checked.

Mars Wear manufactures at its own production facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, with its own design team, using patterns, colours and logos made for each organisation. Our minimum order is 100 pieces and our standard lead time is 15 working days; we ship within Türkiye and abroad. In multi-site operations, separating warehouse, dispatch and delivery teams by colour code is a practical method for both safety and operations.
