What Is a Winter Work Jacket?

A winter work jacket is a corporate winter top layer, cut to waist/hip length, combining a water-repellent outer fabric with a quilted padded lining. It is shorter and lighter than a parka, which is why it is chosen by teams who drive during the day, move often between indoor and outdoor areas and need freedom of movement.

In Türkiye, November to March is the standard winter season. It is the most common corporate winter garment for factory admin staff, logistics and dispatch teams, technical service, retail and field operations staff.

At Mars Wear we make the winter work jacket at our own production facility. Lining density, hood construction, reflective layout, colour and logo application are decided for your organisation. Our minimum order is 100 pieces; we ship within Türkiye and abroad.

Winter Work Jacket, Parka or Fleece Jacket?

All three are for winter, but they solve different problems:

• Winter work jacket: Waist/hip length, medium-to-high fill. For everyday corporate use in standard winter conditions. The option with the best balance of freedom of movement and warmth.
• Parka / coat: Longer and with more fill. For field teams who stay outdoors for long periods and work in harsh winter conditions. Details: Work Coat and Parka.
• Fleece jacket: A thin, breathable mid layer. For the mid-season and indoors; not enough on its own in a hard winter. Details: Printed Fleece Jacket.

Rule of thumb: if staff are outdoors all day, a parka; if they move in and out, a winter work jacket; if it is only cool, a fleece jacket. For roadside and night work, our Waterproof Reflective Work Jacket is more suitable.

Lining and Insulation Options

The lining is what really decides the jacket's warmth:

• Quilted padded lining (standard): Light, does not compress and keeps its shape in the wash. The answer for everyday corporate use.
• High-fill lining: Fill density is increased for teams who stay outdoors for long periods.
• Fleece lining: Gives a soft handle and extra insulation, and reduces the need for a mid layer. Requests for a fleece-lined work jacket come mostly from factory and warehouse teams.
• Detachable lining: For organisations that want to use one jacket across two seasons, the lining can be made detachable.

Reflective Tape and Safety Visibility

For teams working in areas open to vehicle traffic, such as roadsides, car parks, loading bays and night shifts, we add reflective tape to the jacket. The standard application is tape around the sleeves and across the chest; back tape is added as needed.

If visibility is needed at the level of certified safety clothing — in other words, a high-visibility requirement covered by the standard — the right choice is a garment with a fluorescent background and reflective tape, such as our 5-in-1 Work Jacket — Hi-Vis Reflective Parka. Adding tape to an ordinary jacket does not on its own meet the fluorescent area requirement of the standard — we clarify this distinction together before ordering.

Colour, Logo and Custom Design

The colour range falls into three groups: dark corporate shades (black, navy, anthracite, dark green, burgundy, brown), field shades (khaki, tan) and hi-vis (yellow, orange). If your corporate colour is not in the range, we can match a custom colour.

For the logo, left chest embroidery is the most common choice; the back offers a wide area for a company name, department or sponsor lettering. Sizes and Fit

The jacket is cut slightly wider than standard so that a sweatshirt or fleece can be worn underneath. It is produced in XS–5XL, in men's and women's patterns; we make special sizes for staff who need larger sizes. Quantity, Pricing and Lead Time

We do not sell the winter work jacket from stock; we produce every order for your organisation.

1. You send us your requirements: quantity, colour, lining preference, hood and reflective options, size breakdown and logo details.
2. Our design team prepares the logo placement and colour application and presents them for your approval.
3. If you wish, we make a physical sample before production.
4. After approval, production starts at our own facility — 15 working days.
5. Shipping is within Türkiye and abroad, with the option of distribution to multiple locations.

Care

The jacket should be washed on a 30 °C gentle cycle, and fabric softener should not be used — over time it reduces both water repellency and the brightness of the reflective tape. Natural drying or low-heat tumble drying is recommended. For details, see our workwear care guide page.

Should I buy a winter work jacket or a parka?

If your team is outdoors all day, a parka; if they move in and out, a winter work jacket is the better choice. Because the jacket is shorter and lighter, it gives more freedom of movement.

Do you make a fleece-lined work jacket?
