Product description
What Is a 5-in-1 Work Jacket?
A 5-in-1 work jacket is a winter work jacket made up of a fluorescent hi-vis parka with reflective tape and an inner jacket that zips into it. The inner jacket's navy fleece sleeves are removable and its body is reversible: one side is fluorescent with reflective tape, the other is navy fleece. Thanks to this construction, one product can be worn five different ways depending on the weather on site. It is also searched for as a "5+1 jacket", a "5-in-1 hi-vis jacket" and a "5+1 parka".
This model is not made to order; it is a standard stock product. At Mars Wear we manufacture uniforms at our own facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, and we supply this jacket from ready stock; we print your logo and deliver with one quote and one shipment. The minimum order is 100 pieces; we ship within Türkiye and abroad.
Five Ways to Wear It: Which One for Which Weather?
- Parka + inner jacket together — the coldest winter days. The waterproof outer layer and the fleece-lined inner jacket together give the highest insulation.
- Outer parka only — wet but mild days. The inner jacket comes out and the parka is used on its own as a rain and wind barrier.
- Inner jacket only, with sleeves — dry, cool days. With its fluorescent body and fleece sleeves it becomes a light jacket, and visibility continues.
- Inner jacket, sleeves removed — spring and autumn and active work. The sleeves come off, leaving a fluorescent gilet with reflective tape.
- Gilet, reversed — areas away from traffic, the office, inside the vehicle. The navy fleece side goes on the outside; it is worn as a plain, corporate fleece gilet.
On site, the real value of this flexibility shows when conditions change during the day. The jacket worn as a full set in the morning frost becomes a jacket once the parka comes off at midday and a gilet once the sleeves come off in the afternoon; staff do not need a separate product.

What Does It Save in Corporate Buying?
When a winter jacket, rainwear, a hi-vis vest and a fleece gilet are planned separately for a field team, that means four separate items, four size breakdowns and four shipments. The 5-in-1 work jacket brings the work of these pieces together in one product: one size breakdown, one logo approval, one delivery. At the change of season, jackets do not have to be collected into the store and gilets handed out; staff separate the pieces themselves.
To be honest, its unit price is above that of a single-layer jacket. The saving is not in the unit price but in staff not needing a separate product as the weather changes. For teams working only in the winter months and in one type of condition, a single-layer winter work jacket may be more economical. For planning across seasons, see our season changeover plan article.
Stock Model or Made to Order?
This product comes from ready stock; its colour, cut, reflective layout and pocket placement are fixed. What is specific to your organisation is the logo. This has two practical consequences:
- The advantage: no fabric or sewing planning is needed; once the size breakdown is settled and the logo approved, the process comes down to logo printing.
- The limit: if a corporate colour, a different reflective layout or an extra pocket is required, the stock model is not suitable.
If a corporate colour or cut is required, we manufacture models such as our work coat and parka or winter work jacket to order at our own facility. For teams who want a dark corporate look instead of a fluorescent background, there is also the waterproof reflective work jacket.
Visibility: Fluorescent Background and Reflective Tape
Fluorescent yellow and orange are the colours that stand out most easily from their surroundings in daylight; reflective tape sends light back towards its source, such as a vehicle's headlights. The background fabric provides daytime visibility and the tape night-time visibility — this jacket has both.
The colour is chosen according to the environment: in front of green vegetation orange, and on grey concrete and earth yellow, generally stays more visible. Some employers use both colours together to tell teams on site apart.
An important note: when the gilet is worn with the navy fleece side out, the fluorescent background and reflective tape are on the inside. This way of wearing it is not suitable for areas open to vehicle and plant traffic.
If your workplace risk assessment requires a specific visibility class or rain protection class, state this in your quote request; we will confirm the conformity documents of the supplied batch before the order and share them with you. For what the classes mean, see our EN ISO 20471 reflective classes guide.
Who Uses It?
- Construction and site teams — morning frost, midday sun, evening rain; changing layers during the day. See construction and site workwear.
- Logistics, warehousing and open yards — a gilet in the enclosed warehouse, the full set in the yard and on the dock. See logistics and warehouse workwear.
- Municipal, infrastructure and road maintenance teams — staff who stay outdoors for long periods in wet weather.
- Energy, gas and water network field staff — pockets set aside for a radio and an ID card keep field equipment organised.
- Car parks, ports and service areas — areas where vehicle traffic continues and work goes on at night.
Logo Print
On a stock model, the logo is what is specific to your organisation. We place the print so that it does not overlap the reflective tape; print that lands on the tape covers its reflective surface and reduces visibility at night. The usual placement:
- Back: company name or logo on the fluorescent area between the bands
- Chest: a small logo on the side opposite the radio pocket
On a waterproof outer parka we recommend print rather than embroidery: the embroidery needle punches holes in the surface that the seam tape protects. For the differences between methods, see our logo printing and embroidery methods article.
Minimum Order and Price
The minimum order is 100 pieces. The price on this page is the average unit price for a 100-piece order, excluding VAT; we give the exact price in the quote based on the number of logos, the print area and the size breakdown. Because this is a stock model, the delivery date is confirmed in the quote according to stock availability and logo printing. For budget planning, our workwear prices and cost guide article will help.
The size range is XS – 4XL; the inner jacket and outer parka come as a set in the same size. Because it is designed to be worn in layers, staff only need to choose their normal size.
Care
- Wash at 40 °C
- Do not use bleach
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean
- Do not tumble dry
- Separate the inner jacket from the parka before washing
The life of the reflective tape depends largely on washing conditions. For details, see our workwear care instructions article.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a 5-in-1 jacket and a 3-in-1 jacket?
In a 3-in-1 jacket two pieces give three ways of wearing: outer shell, inner fleece and both together. In the 5-in-1 work jacket the inner jacket's sleeves also come off and its body is reversible, which adds two more ways of wearing it: as a fluorescent gilet and as a navy fleece gilet.
Does the inner gilet replace a hi-vis vest?
Worn with the fluorescent side out, it is a fluorescent gilet with reflective tape. If your specification requires a particular visibility class, we will confirm the class documentation together before the order. For teams who only need a vest, the hi-vis reflective vest is more economical.
Can it be made in our corporate colour?
Because this model is a stock product, the colours are limited to yellow-navy and orange-navy. If a corporate colour is required, made-to-order production is planned through our custom uniform design process.
Where is the hood?
The hood is concealed inside the collar; when not needed it stays folded in the collar, and in the rain it is taken out of the collar and pulled over the head.
Can the logo be printed over the reflective tape?
We do not recommend it: print covers the tape's reflective surface and reduces visibility at night. The logo is placed on the fluorescent area between the bands, or on the chest opposite the pocket.
