About Work Jackets and Gilets

Mars Wear manufactures work jackets and gilets at its own production facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, with patterns and logos made for each organisation, from a minimum of 100 pieces; we ship within Türkiye and abroad. Standard lead time is 15 working days. The only exception in the category is the 5+1 work jacket: we supply this model from ready stock, print your logo and deliver.

Companies' most common request in this category is branded outerwear: gilets with the company logo, printed work vests, promotional gilets for trade fairs and campaigns, and branded work jackets for field teams. The process is the same for all of them — our own design team prepares the logo placement, and production starts once the digital placement mock-up is approved.

WHICH LAYER FOR WHICH JOB?

In outerwear the right choice is not a single product but a layering plan. Three different constructions emerge depending on what your team does during the day:

Gilet — leaves the arms free. For teams who use tools, sit at the wheel or put constant load on their arms, a gilet is preferred over a jacket. It keeps the torso warm without restricting movement.

Mid-layer (fleece, softshell, light quilted) — worn on its own or under a jacket. It is the most flexible answer for work where the temperature changes a lot during the day.

Outer layer (jacket, coat, parka) — the real barrier against wind, rain and cold. For teams who are outdoors all day.

IF VISIBILITY IS REQUIRED: THE CLASS RULE

EN ISO 20471, the standard for high-visibility clothing, sets the class by the area of material on the garment: at least 0.14 m² of fluorescent background + 0.10 m² of reflective material for Class 1, 0.50 + 0.13 for Class 2, and 0.80 + 0.20 m² for Class 3.

What you need to know here: trousers on their own typically meet Class 1. An upper garment covering the torso — a vest or jacket — is the way to reach Class 2. Class 3 requires a sleeved top together with full-length taped legs; it is rarely achieved with a single garment.

So if your team needs Class 2 or 3, the right question is not "which vest" but what the trousers and upper garment give together. We work this out with you.

Let us be clear about certification: high-visibility clothing is Category II personal protective equipment, and certification is issued by a notified body for a specific tested product. If certified PPE is mandatory at your workplace, state it at the start of the project; fabric and tape sourcing and the certification route are set up accordingly.

MAIN GROUPS IN THE CATEGORY

Hi-vis vests — hi-vis vest, engineer's vest, summer mesh vest, gabardine gilet. For teams exposed to traffic, plant machinery or low light.

Insulating gilets — padded (quilted) gilet, reflective padded gilet, fleece-lined gilet, fleece gilet, softshell gilet. They keep the torso warm while leaving the arms free.

Multi-pocket gilets — for field teams carrying tools, radios and paperwork.

Winter jackets — fleece-lined winter jacket, quilted gabardine jacket, 3-in-1 jacket with removable lining, lightweight padded jacket, work coat and parka.

Waterproof and hi-vis jackets — for teams working in wet conditions who also need to be visible. This is the group most chosen as site jackets; the 5+1 work jacket, which combines a fluorescent hi-vis parka, a removable inner jacket and a reversible fleece gilet in one product, is also in this group.

Cold-weather jackets — for cold store and freezer teams; if certified cold protection is needed for these products, the EN 342 scope is discussed separately.

LOGO AND PRODUCTION

On heavy winter fabric, embroidery is the most durable logo method. Hi-vis products have an extra constraint: print or embroidery must not reduce the fluorescent background and reflective area. Our own design team applies your logo with this constraint in mind.

Sizes XS–5XL, larger sizes made to order. Women's and men's patterns are developed separately.
