Product description
What Is a Padded Work Gilet?
A padded work gilet is a sleeveless mid-layer garment made of thin panels with synthetic fill. Because it keeps the torso warm while leaving the arms free, it is chosen instead of a jacket for work that involves movement; in the cold it is worn under a jacket for extra insulation.
This model is made with a stand collar, a full-length zip and three pockets. It is the most widely used type of gilet in corporate wear: the padded panel construction gives a neat base for logo embroidery and print, and it stays looking clean for a long time in dark colours.
At Mars Wear we make the padded work gilet at our own production facility. Colour, fill thickness, pocket layout and logo application are decided for your organisation. Our minimum order is 100 pieces; we ship within Türkiye and abroad.
Pocket Layout: What Are the Three Pockets For?
- Zipped chest pocket: For an ID card, phone or pen. Being zipped stops the contents falling out when bending or getting in and out of vehicles — this is the real difference from the standard two-pocket model.
- Two zipped side pockets: Slanted openings; for warming hands and for everyday items such as keys and gloves.
If your team carries extra equipment such as a radio, measuring device or notebook, we can increase the number of pockets or add an inner pocket or back pocket.
How It Differs From the Side-Pocket Padded Gilet
- This model (3 pockets): The zipped chest pocket makes the ID card and phone easy to reach. Better suited to inspection, audit and roaming site staff.
- Side-Pocket Padded Work Gilet: No chest pocket, only two side pockets. Suitable for staff who want a clean front and do not need a chest pocket.
Both work on the same layering logic; the choice depends on what your team needs to reach during the day.

Why Is It Chosen as a Corporate and Promotional Gilet?
The padded gilet is the most branded product in corporate wear, and there are practical reasons for this:
- A neat base for embroidery: The flat area between the padded panels is a stable surface for chest embroidery; the embroidery sits without puckering.
- A wide back area: Well suited to a company name, department or sponsor lettering.
- Size flexibility: Because it is sleeveless, it has a high size tolerance; the risk in the size breakdown for large teams is lower.
- Year-round use: Worn on its own in autumn and spring, under a jacket in winter. A long period of use from a single production run.
That is why it is the most requested product for dealer meetings, trade fairs, kitting out field teams and staff gifts. For a comparison of embroidery and print methods, see our logo printing and embroidery guide.
Layering Logic: Which Gilet, When?
- This model (padded, quilted): Cool to cold weather; on its own or under a jacket. Strong wind-blocking performance.
- Fleece Work Gilet: A soft handle and breathability first; indoors and in mild weather.
- Fleece-Lined Work Gilet: A durable outer surface + fleece lining in one.
- Micro Gilet: Thin and light; for the office and the mid-season.
- Multi-Pocket Work Vest — Grey: For craftspeople and technicians whose priority is carrying tools, not warmth.
On a cold site a gilet on its own is not enough; we recommend layering it with the winter work jacket.
Areas of Use
- Site inspection and audit staff: People getting in and out of vehicles, both indoors and outdoors during the day.
- Parcel, courier and last-mile delivery: Free arms are decisive in loading and delivery.
- Logistics and warehousing: Dispatch supervisors and warehouse teams. See the full set on the logistics and warehouse workwear page.
- Factory admin and quality staff: A practical mid layer when moving between workshop and office. Take a look at our factory and production workwear category.
- Events, trade fairs and organisation: Operations teams and stand staff; roles are distinguished with back lettering.
- Retail and stores: Staff moving between the stockroom and the shop floor.
- Landscaping and site supervisors: A corporate look combined with practicality on site.
Colour, Logo and Custom Design
The most common choice is dark corporate shades (black, navy, anthracite) — they do not show dirt or stains and suit any corporate identity. If your corporate colour is different, we can match the body and zip colours to it.
For the logo, left chest embroidery is the most common choice; the back offers a wide print area. Our own design team prepares the placement and size and presents them for your approval before production.
Sizes and Fit
The gilet is cut slightly generously so that a sweatshirt or shirt can be worn underneath. It is produced in XS–5XL, in men's and women's patterns; we make special sizes when larger sizes are needed. For detailed measurements, see our workwear size chart guide.

Care
The gilet should be washed on a 30 °C gentle cycle, and fabric softener should not be used. To stop the fill clumping, tumble dry on low heat with a few dry tennis or dryer balls in the machine; alternatively, dry naturally on a flat surface. Do not iron directly over the embroidered area. For details, see our workwear care guide page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the 3-pocket model and the side-pocket model?
The zipped chest pocket. It makes a practical difference for inspection and site staff who need quick access to an ID card, phone and pen; the side-pocket model has no chest pocket, only two side pockets.
Is the chest pocket flapped or zipped?
In standard production it is zipped. A flap with hook-and-loop can be made on request.
Is the gilet enough on its own, or is it worn under a jacket?
Both are possible. It is worn on its own in cool weather and as a mid layer under a jacket or parka in the cold.
Can more pockets be added?
Yes. We can add an inner pocket, a back pocket or an extra chest pocket; we decide the layout together based on the equipment your team carries.
Is embroidery or print more suitable?
Embroidery gives a long-lasting, corporate look; transfer print is better for large, multi-colour logos. We make a recommendation after looking at your logo.
Does the fill clump when washed?
Clumping is prevented when it is dried on low heat with dryer balls. High heat and fabric softener are not recommended.
Do you produce a women's pattern?
Yes. The gilet is produced in men's and women's patterns, in XS–5XL.
What is the minimum order?
100 pieces. As the quantity rises, the unit price falls in tiers.
Do you produce and ship abroad?
Yes. We ship from our own production facility within Türkiye and abroad.
