Product description

What Is a Fleece Gilet?

A fleece gilet (fleece work gilet) is a sleeveless mid-layer garment with a full-length zip, made from brushed knitted fleece. It keeps the torso warm while leaving the arms free; because it is thin, it adds no bulk over a shirt or polo shirt and is comfortable under a jacket too.

This model is made with a stand-up collar — it keeps out cool air at the neck and gives a smart, corporate look. In Türkiye, the polo shirt + fleece gilet combination has become the de facto winter uniform of office and store staff.

At Mars Wear we make the fleece work gilet at our own production facility. Fabric weight, collar type, fastening, pocket layout and logo application are decided for your organisation. Our minimum order is 100 pieces; we ship within Türkiye and abroad.

Why Is It So Common in Corporate Wear?

  • It solves the temperature balance problem: On air-conditioned office floors the temperature fluctuates during the day. A gilet is the most practical way to adjust warmth without changing the whole outfit.
  • An ideal base for embroidery: The knitted fleece surface holds embroidery neatly; a left chest logo sits without puckering.
  • High size tolerance: Because it is sleeveless, the risk in the size breakdown for large teams is lower.
  • A long season: Worn on its own in autumn and spring, under a jacket in winter.
  • Economical: One of the most cost-effective gilets in the catalogue; it does not strain the budget when kitting out large numbers of staff.

Fleece Gilet, Padded Gilet or Micro Gilet?

All four are mid layers, but they serve different priorities:

  • Fleece gilet (this product): A soft handle, breathability and a classic corporate look. Best indoors and as a layer under a jacket. Its wind-blocking performance is limited.
  • 3-Pocket Padded Work Gilet: A padded panel construction; blocks the wind and is more effective outdoors. It has a sportier look.
  • Micro Gilet: Thinner and lighter; for the mid-season and office use.
  • Fleece-Lined Work Gilet: A durable fabric outside and a fleece lining inside — for those who want to keep the softness of fleece in site conditions.

Rule of thumb: If indoor use and a corporate look come first, fleece; if there is wind outdoors, padded; if both apply, the fleece-lined model is the right choice.

Fabric, Pilling and Quality

The best-known problem with fleece is pilling — the small balls of fibre that form on the surface over time. Two things determine it: the quality of the fabric and how it is cared for.

In our production we use fleece with an anti-pilling finish; this finish delays the surface fibres breaking and balling up. On the other hand, fabric softener and high-heat drying shorten the effect of the finish. For staff whose garments are washed often, we recommend a heavier fabric for more frequent use — if you tell us how often your team will wear it, we decide the right weight together.

Logo: Why Do We Recommend Embroidery?

Screen printing is not used on fleece — the ink does not sit on the brushed surface and cracks quickly. So:

  • Embroidery (recommended): The most durable method for a left chest logo. It looks sharp and corporate on fleece.
  • Transfer print: Suitable for multi-colour logos and lettering over the wide back area.

Our own design team adjusts the logo size and placement to the texture of the fleece and presents them for your approval before production. For a comparison of methods, see our logo printing and embroidery guide, and for fabric choices, our fabric guide.

Areas of Use

  • Office towers, holding companies and tech offices: A practical answer to temperature swings caused by air conditioning; it keeps the corporate look intact.
  • Retail and stores: When moving between the shop floor and the stockroom; made in the brand colour to keep the corporate identity.
  • Hotel, restaurant and café chains: A layer over the shirt for front office and floor staff.
  • Call centres and customer services: Keeps the body warm for teams who sit for long periods, without restricting movement.
  • Healthcare admin staff: Reception and outpatient clinic admin staff.
  • Factory admin and quality staff: When moving between workshop and office. Take a look at our factory and production workwear category.
  • Logistics and warehouse admin teams: See the full set on the logistics and warehouse workwear page.
  • Event, trade fair and conference teams: The back area is well suited to an event or sponsor logo.

Colour and Custom Design

The most common choice is dark corporate shades — black, navy, anthracite and grey. These shades do not show stains and suit any corporate identity. If your brand colour is different, we can match the body and zip colours to it and create a two-tone combination.

Sizes and Fit

The gilet is cut slightly generously so that a shirt or sweatshirt can be worn underneath; if it will be worn under a jacket, we recommend a slightly roomier fit. It is produced in XS–5XL, in men's and women's patterns; we make special sizes when larger sizes are needed. For detailed measurements, see our workwear size chart guide.

Quantity, Pricing and Lead Time

We do not sell the gilet from stock; we produce every order for your organisation.

  1. You send us your requirements: quantity, colour, collar and fastening preference, pocket layout, size breakdown and logo details.
  2. Our design team prepares the logo placement and presents it for your approval.
  3. If you wish, we make a physical sample before production.
  4. After approval, production starts at our own facility — 15 working days.
  5. Shipping is within Türkiye and abroad.
  • Minimum order: 100 pieces
  • Price: The unit price falls in tiers as the quantity rises — an advantage of about 12% at 500 pieces, 18% at 1,000 and up to 25% at 2,500 pieces and above. You can see the average unit price for your quantity in the calculator on this page.
  • What affects the price: fleece weight, collar and fastening type, number of pockets, logo area and method.

Care

The fleece gilet should be washed on a 30 °C gentle cycle. Fabric softener should not be used — it coats the fleece fibres, impairs moisture transfer and speeds up pilling. Natural drying is recommended rather than a tumble dryer; ironing is not needed, and if it is, it should be done on a low heat without touching the embroidered area. For details, see our workwear care guide page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I buy a fleece gilet or a padded gilet?

If your team works mainly indoors and a corporate look is your priority, a fleece gilet; if they are exposed to wind outdoors, a padded gilet is more suitable. Some organisations use both.

Does fleece pill?

We use fabric with an anti-pilling finish, which delays balling on the surface. Fabric softener and high-heat drying are not recommended because they speed up pilling.

Should the logo be embroidered or printed?

We recommend embroidery for the left chest — it is the most durable method on fleece. Transfer print suits multi-colour logos over the wide back area. Screen printing is not used on fleece.

Can it be worn under a jacket?

Yes. Because it is thin, it adds insulation under a jacket or parka without bulk; for this use we recommend a slightly roomier fit.

Can you add pockets?

Yes. Side pockets are standard; inner and chest pockets are added on request.

Do you produce in our corporate colour?

Yes. We can match the body and zip colours to your brand colour and create a two-tone combination.

Do you produce a women's pattern?

Yes. The gilet is produced in men's and women's patterns, in XS–5XL.

What is the minimum order?

100 pieces. As the quantity rises, the unit price falls in tiers.

Do you produce and ship abroad?

Yes. We ship from our own production facility within Türkiye and abroad.
