About Factory and Production Workwear
In factory clothing what decides is not the sector but the hazard on the line. In the same building, the machine operator, the maintenance team and the engineer moving between office and line have three different needs.
For teams working near machinery, the first rule is to prevent entanglement. Near rotating shafts, lathes, drills and conveyors, loose sleeves, open hems, dangling cords and laces are a risk. For this team, narrow sleeve openings, elasticated cuffs and buttonless fastenings are preferred; T-shirts and boiler suits are safer than shirts.
If there is heat or sparks, the fabric decision changes. High-synthetic fabrics melt on contact with sparks and stick to the skin; in hot areas, high-cotton fabric or fabric with a special finish is used. The same logic applies to trouser length in welding areas: trousers are worn over the boot, not tucked in — tucked in, sparks fall straight into the boot.
In food, pharmaceutical and clean room production the rules are reversed. In these areas the risk is contamination and foreign bodies: there are no pockets above the waist, no buttons that could come off, and in the strictest class no pockets at all. Colour is not chosen at random either; dirt should be visible.
Electronics and precision assembly lines need static control. Here "antistatic" and "ESD" are not the same thing — ESD defines a much narrower resistance range, and the requirement is set by the facility's own procedure.
For maintenance and technical staff, carrying tools comes first: pocket layout, hanging loops and knee pad pockets directly affect productivity.
Mars Wear manufactures at its own production facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, with its own design team. We develop patterns, colours and logos for each organisation; our minimum order is 100 pieces and our standard lead time is 15 working days. We ship within Türkiye and abroad. Where one facility has several teams, we handle shift, line and department differentiation within a single order using colour coding and sleeve embroidery.
