What Is a Two-Thread Crew Neck Sweatshirt?

A two-thread sweatshirt is knitted from two separate yarns. The first forms the outer face and gives a smooth, matt finish. The second forms loops on the inner face. On a brushed model those loops are raised, so the inside turns soft and the trapped air keeps body heat in.

A crew neck is the round, rib-knit neckline that sits close to the neck; it is also called a round neck or a hoodless sweatshirt. With no hood and no zip, it looks clean, does not bunch up under a jacket or gilet and has nothing to catch on machinery.

At Mars Wear we make the two-thread crew neck sweatshirt in our own production facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, with our own design team, in your colour and with your logo, from 100 pieces. Standard lead time is 15 working days, and we ship within Türkiye and abroad.

Two-Thread or Three-Thread?

This is the question buyers ask most. The difference lies in the number of yarns and the thickness that brings.

  • Two-thread — an outer yarn and an inner loop yarn. Lighter and more flexible, it follows the body and layers comfortably. Suits teams who work indoors and put a jacket on and off during the day.
  • Three-thread — a third binding yarn is added. The fabric is thicker, fuller and heavier, and is worn on its own as an outer layer in colder conditions.

In short, the two-thread brushed sweatshirt is a mid layer that keeps you warm in winter without feeling bulky. Staff wear it all day, sleeves do not feel tight under a jacket, and it does not overheat in heated buildings. If your team spends long hours outdoors, we recommend our heavier three-thread crew neck sweatshirt or a branded padded gilet on top.

Fabric: 65% Cotton, 35% Polyester

The blend decides how long the garment lasts in corporate use.

  • Cotton is kind to the skin, breathes and feels comfortable through a full shift.
  • Polyester helps the garment keep its shape and colour through washing, reduces shrinkage and helps the fabric dry faster.

In workwear that is washed often, 100% cotton loses its shape and fades over time; this blend keeps the comfort while lasting longer across a large team. Our fabric is a two-thread regenerated brushed fleece: regenerated yarn is spun from cotton fibres recovered from textile production. At 260 gsm the sweatshirt is durable without restricting movement when layered. For other fabric options, see our workwear fabric guide.

Colours

Six colours are shown:

  • Navy — the classic corporate colour for office, sales and service teams
  • Anthracite — shows dirt the least; suits production and warehouse teams
  • Grey marl — a popular tone for sports, campus and event teams
  • Black — the background on which a white or coloured logo reads most clearly
  • Red and royal blue — for companies with a brand colour, event teams and department coding

You can choose several colours in one order, for example to tell teams apart by colour. We can also produce in another colour to match your corporate identity; custom-colour orders are planned separately for quantity and lead time.

Logo: Front Chest and Back

With no hood and no zip, the crew neck sweatshirt offers a flat, generous logo area.

  • Front chest — a small logo on the left chest; the most common corporate choice
  • Back — company name, event text or a large logo

Logo application is priced per position and added to the plain unit price: a front-chest logo adds about 7%, a back logo about 8% for an order of 100 pieces. Because the outer face of the brushed fabric is smooth, both print and embroidery sit cleanly. Embroidery looks more corporate and lasts longer on a small chest logo; print suits wide text and large logos on the back. Our design team sets the size and position of your logo and sends you a digital visual for approval before production. For a comparison of methods, see our logo printing and embroidery guide.

For large or multi-colour logos, the price is confirmed in the quote. Colours and sizes can be split freely within the 100 pieces. Pricing is explained in detail on our minimum 100 pieces bulk logo workwear production page.

Where It Is Used

Thanks to its clean cut, a printed or embroidered sweatshirt works as staff clothing in almost every sector, from the shop floor to the office:

  • Industry, manufacturing and construction — factory and production and construction and site teams; a mid layer under the jacket in winter
  • Warehouse and logistics — logistics and warehouse staff; the hoodless design is safer in active work
  • Office, retail and services — shop, call centre, technical service and corporate office teams
  • Tourism, education and healthcare — hotel and guiding teams, school and campus staff, administrative staff
  • Technology and creative industries — team clothing that carries company culture
  • Events, organisations and sport — trade fairs, launches, clubs and team kit
  • Agriculture and livestock — teams working outdoors on cool mornings

To plan the full set for your sector, see our staff clothing guide.

Layering in Winter

The two-thread brushed sweatshirt is the mid layer of a winter outfit:

As the temperature changes, a layer comes off instead of one heavy coat; the same sweatshirt is in use from October to April rather than waiting in the cupboard. For the full winter set, see our winter workwear category.

Frequently Ordered Together

All models are in the branded sweatshirts category. For size splits, see our workwear size chart.

Care

  • Wash at 30 °C, inside out; the brushed inner face and the logo last longer.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry on high heat; the rib cuffs and hem loosen.
  • Do not iron directly on the logo; iron on the reverse at low heat.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does two-thread sweatshirt mean?

It means the fabric is knitted from two yarns: one forms the outer face, the other forms the loops on the inner face. On a brushed model the inner loops are raised and the fabric holds more warmth.

Should we choose two-thread or three-thread?

For staff who work indoors and wear the sweatshirt under a jacket in winter, two-thread is more comfortable and practical. For staff who stay in the cold for long periods and wear it as an outer layer, three-thread is the thicker option.

What does brushed mean?

The loops on the inner face of the fabric are brushed to raise a soft pile. The raised inner face feels soft and traps air to hold heat.

Is it warm enough on its own in winter?

It is in heated buildings and on mild days. Outdoors in winter it should be planned as a mid layer: a gilet or jacket on top and, in severe cold, a thermal base layer underneath.

How much does a logo add?

For an order of 100 pieces, a front-chest logo adds about 7% and a back logo about 8% to the plain unit price, excluding VAT. For large or multi-colour logos, the price is confirmed in the quote.

Embroidery or print?

We recommend embroidery for a small left-chest logo, and print for wide text and large logos on the back.

Can we mix colours and sizes?

Yes. Within an order of 100 pieces, you decide the split of colours and sizes.

What is your minimum order and lead time?

The minimum order is 100 pieces. After design approval, the standard lead time is 15 working days; production takes place in our own facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, and we ship within Türkiye and abroad.
