What Is a Reflective Crew Neck T-Shirt?

A reflective t-shirt is a work t-shirt with light-returning tape on the body. When vehicle headlights or a floodlight hit the tape, the light is sent back towards its source, so staff can be seen from much further away in the dark and at dusk. The fluorescent base colour provides daytime visibility: orange stands out at first glance on a grey construction site or by the roadside.

This model is the reflective version of our crew neck work t-shirt. With its round, ribbed neckline and relaxed cut it is the most practical top for site teams; with no buttons or collar it never gets in the way of staff who move all day.

Segmented Reflective Tape

The tape in the photo is not one continuous strip; it is segmented into short lines. This design has two benefits on site:

• It flexes — when staff bend, reach or lift their arms, the tape moves with the fabric instead of creasing and peeling
• It feels more comfortable — the gaps between segments stop the tape covering the fabric completely, so it holds less heat in summer than a solid strip

The layout is the classic one: two horizontal bands across the chest and two vertical bands over the shoulders, so staff reflect light from the front and the side.

Navy Collar and Hem Panel

The parts of fluorescent workwear that get dirty fastest are the collar and the hem: sweat, dust and grease collect there and show straight away on a fluorescent base. On this model the neckband and hem panel are made in navy. The garment looks clean for longer without losing any of the visibility of the fluorescent body.

Crew Neck or Polo?

• Reflective crew neck (this product) — the most relaxed cut; for construction, road maintenance, warehouse and field teams. It offers a large print area on the back.
• Reflective polo shirt — stand-up collar and buttoned placket in 100% cotton piqué; a more corporate look for supervisors, engineers and customer-facing field staff.

Many companies use both: crew necks for the site team, polos for supervisors and technical staff. Made with the same tape layout and the same logo, the whole team keeps one look.

About Visibility Certification

This product is not an EN ISO 20471 certified high-visibility garment; it is a reflective work t-shirt that improves visibility. If your specification requires a certified high-visibility class, tell us at the start of the project; we then plan production with certified fabric and tape, or a reflective hi-vis vest over the t-shirt. Logo: Print and Embroidery

The smooth surface of single jersey carries print sharply, so on the crew neck model a large company name or role text printed on the back is the most common choice. Embroidery can also be used for a small chest logo.

The logo must not sit on the reflective tape; print or embroidery on the tape covers the reflective surface. Reflective T-Shirt Prices

The price on this page is the average unit price for 100 plain pieces, excluding VAT. Logo application is priced per position and added to the plain unit price: a front-chest logo adds about 6%, a back logo about 8% for an order of 100 pieces. For large or multi-colour logos, the price is confirmed in the quote.

Care

• Wash at 30 °C, inside out; the reflective tape and fluorescent colour last longer.
• Do not use bleach or stain remover; they damage the reflective surface of the tape.
• Do not tumble dry or dry in direct sunlight; fluorescent colours fade gradually in the sun.
• Do not iron over the tape or the logo; iron on the reverse at low heat.

How does a reflective t-shirt look at night?

Is a fluorescent t-shirt the same as a reflective one?
