What Is a Rain Vest For?

A rain vest (waterproof vest) is the in-between solution that comes into play where a full-length rain jacket gets in the way. The sleeveless shell cut protects the upper body and back from the rain while leaving the arms completely free; for staff who ride motorbikes, scan with handheld terminals, carry boxes or get in and out of vehicles all day, it is a much more comfortable option than a full rain jacket.

The product's second function is speed. A sleeveless rain vest goes on over the existing uniform in seconds and, when the rain stops, comes off and folds away just as quickly. That is why most companies plan it not as something worn all the time but as a response item ready and waiting in vehicles and at warehouse entrances.

Its limit also needs saying clearly: because the arms are exposed, it does not give full protection in heavy, constant rain. If staff will work in the rain for long periods, the waterproof reflective work jacket is the right choice, and if the lower body gets wet too, the waterproof rain trousers.

Waterproofing and Certification

The outer is PU-coated polyester with a hydrostatic head of ≥ 5,000 mm; because the seams are sealed by welding, there is no leakage through needle holes. This construction keeps the upper body dry in moderate, short spells of rain.

For tenders requiring certified production and for orders covered by PPE rules, EN 343-certified production is planned separately; which waterproofing and water-vapour-resistance class to target is confirmed together with the fabric choice at the ordering stage. Visibility: The Difference Between Neon Yellow and Dark Colours

The rain vest is produced with two different visibility approaches, and the difference is decisive in tender specifications:

• Neon yellow (fluorescent) body + reflective tape — because it combines a fluorescent background with retroreflective tape, it can be produced within the scope of EN ISO 20471. This version is required in areas where visibility is mandatory, such as roads, car parks, ramps and night operations.
• Navy, black and orange body + reflective tape — the tape increases visibility, but because there is no fluorescent background area it does not meet the EN ISO 20471 classification. Preferred when a corporate look comes first.

Which Teams Use It?

Motorcycle couriers and bicycle delivery — the most common use, because of the free arms and quick dressing; in this use the product is often called a courier vest.

Logo Application

PU-coated surfaces are not embroidered — needle holes break the waterproofing. On this product, the logo is applied by transfer print, screen printing or DTF. The standard position is the left chest; the back offers the largest area for the company name, department or role. So that the print area does not clash with the reflective tape, the layout is planned around the tape line at the design stage.

Order Quantity and Quote

The minimum order is 100; the colour and size mix can be arranged freely within this quantity. The unit price is calculated from the colour, reflective layout, logo method and quantity together. Care

The PU-coated surface is cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. If it needs machine washing, wash at 30 °C, inside out and without fabric softener. Bleach and dry cleaning damage the coating. Do not tumble dry; hang to dry in the shade. Do not iron — a hot iron melts the PU coating. Storing it folded under pressure for long periods can leave crease marks in the coating; hanging storage is recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it replace a rain jacket?

No. Because the arms are exposed, it does not give full protection in heavy, constant rain. For work done in the rain for long periods, a rain jacket should be chosen, together with rain trousers if needed.

Is the hood detachable?

On this model the hood is fixed to the body and tightened with a drawcord toggle. If a variant with a detachable hood is needed, it can be planned as custom production.

Is there an EN ISO 20471 certified version?

Because a fluorescent background is required, only the neon yellow version can be produced to this standard. On the navy and black versions the reflective tape increases visibility, but no certified class is given.

Can a logo be embroidered on it?

No. The embroidery needle pierces the PU coating and breaks the waterproofing. On this product, transfer print, screen printing or DTF is used.

What is the minimum order?
