Product description

Balaclava

A thermal protector that covers the head, neck and face in one piece. For the situation that a beanie and neck warmer cannot handle separately: strong, constant wind.

Mars Wear produces it in your company colour and with your logo from a minimum of 100 pieces; standard delivery is 15 working days.

When Is a Beanie + Neck Warmer Not Enough?

For most winter teams, a beanie and a neck warmer are enough. There are three situations that call for a balaclava:

  • Constant wind — open ground, high points, the seafront, work on bridges and poles. The wind hits the cheeks and forehead directly.
  • Movement wind — motorcycle couriers, open vehicles, forklift trips across outdoor areas. Even in still air, speed creates wind.
  • Freezing environments — deep-freeze stores; direct contact of the airways with cold air.

Without these three situations, a balaclava is an unnecessary layer, and staff do not like working with their face covered; the pieces handed out go unused.

Fogged Glasses: The Real Problem

Every product that covers the face brings the same complaint: the glasses fog up.

The reason is simple — breath escapes upwards along the nose line of the mask and condenses on the cold lens of the glasses. For staff who wear safety glasses this is a serious problem; they pull the mask down to see, and the protection ends.

The solution is in the mask: a structure along the nose line that directs airflow and a perforated/breathable panel at the mouth that sends breath forward. Before ordering, we ask whether your team wears safety glasses or dust masks; if they do, we suggest a design to match.

Working with Hard Hats and Masks

A balaclava adds thickness around the head. For staff who wear hard hats, this creates the same problem we describe for the hard hat liner: the head clearance inside the hard hat narrows and the harness no longer sits properly.

For teams wearing hard hats, the balaclava must be thin, and compatibility should be assessed against your hard hat manufacturer's instructions. A thick mask with a hard hat reduces protective performance.

A Note on Identification and Visibility

A product that covers the face completely can cause identification problems in some workplaces — especially in facilities monitored by cameras, security-controlled areas and customer-facing points.

For these teams we recommend a cut that leaves the face open (covering only the head and neck). We decide together which cut suits you.

Ordering and Care

Our minimum order is 100; shipping within Türkiye and abroad.

  • Wash at 30 °C, inside out.
  • Do not use fabric softener; it reduces the fleece's ability to trap air.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Because the mouth area gets damp from breathing, it should be washed more often than other accessories; planning two per person is practical.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need it if we already have beanies and neck warmers? Not unless there is constant wind, movement wind (couriers, open vehicles) or a freezing environment. Without those three situations, staff do not like working with their face covered.

How do you prevent glasses fogging? With an airflow-directing structure along the nose line and a breathable panel at the mouth. If your team wears safety glasses, mention it before ordering.

Can it be worn with a hard hat? A thin cut is needed. A thick mask narrows the head clearance of the hard hat and weakens its protection; compatibility should be assessed against your hard hat manufacturer's instructions.

Is there an open-face model? Yes. For facilities where identification is required and for customer-facing staff, we recommend the cut that covers only the head and neck.

How many should we plan? The mouth area gets damp and is washed often; two per person is practical.

What is your minimum order? 100 pieces.
