What Is a Short-Sleeved Work Coverall?
A work coverall is workwear that covers the upper and lower body in one piece; on site it is often called overalls or a boiler suit. Because it is one piece, there is no waist gap: when staff bend, crouch or reach, the back does not open and dust and dirt do not reach the body.
A short-sleeved work coverall is the summer model, made with a lighter gabardine and short sleeves so this advantage can also be used in the hot season. At Mars Wear we make the short-sleeved work coverall at our own facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, with our own design team, in a colour, pattern and logo specific to your organisation, from a minimum of 100 pieces; standard delivery is 15 working days, shipping within Türkiye and abroad.
Why Does a Coverall Struggle in the Heat?
Being one piece is as much a disadvantage in the heat as it is an advantage: the body is fully covered and you cannot take a layer off. With trousers and a top, staff can take off the top layer and stay in a T-shirt; a coverall offers no such option — it is either fully on or tied at the waist.
Tying it at the waist also ends the completeness a coverall offers. That is why in a summer coverall the solution cannot be layers; it has to be fabric and airflow:
- A lighter, more open-weave gabardine — noticeably more breathable than winter fabric
- Ventilation channels / mesh panels at the back and underarms — where sweat builds up most
- A roomy body cut — reduces fabric clinging to the skin and leaves room for air to circulate
- Waist adjustment — the waistline is gathered while the coverall stays loose
Short Sleeves Are Not Suitable for Every Job
This needs saying at the outset, because short sleeves remove a layer of protection while adding coolness.
Jobs where short sleeves are not suitable: welding and hot work (sparks land directly on the arms), chemical and oil splashes, handling sharp and cutting materials, glass and sheet metal work, working all day in direct sunlight (risk of sunburn on the arms).
Jobs where short sleeves are reasonable: indoor production areas, warehousing and packing, assembly lines, maintenance and cleaning, light non-food work, in-house technical service.
If your team is mixed, we plan short-sleeved and long-sleeved coveralls in the same order — because the pattern and colour stay the same, there is no extra cost.
Coverall, or Trousers and a T-Shirt?
In the hot season the alternative to a work coverall is two-piece summer workwear. The choice depends on how much the work dirties the body:
- Short-sleeved work coverall (this product) — covers the body in one piece with no waist gap. For work where dust, oil and paint get onto the body.
- Trousers and a T-shirt — the top can be taken off and changed during the day; the coolest option, but the waist stays exposed. See the summer gabardine work trousers and the polo work shirt.
- Work shorts — in the hottest climates and for jobs where the risk assessment allows. See the summer cargo work shorts.
If dirt and dust get onto the body, the short-sleeved coverall; if staff also face customers during the day, trousers and a T-shirt are more suitable.
Which Teams Is It For?
- Production and assembly lines — indoors, in summer. See factory and production workwear
- Warehousing and packing
- Maintenance and technical service — in-house
- Painting and refurbishment — jobs where the body gets dirty; also used as painter's overalls
- Landscaping and gardening — if the sun risk is low; in unshaded areas we recommend long sleeves
- Car servicing and washing
Product and Logo Customisation
This coverall can be customised for your company in the product itself, not only with a logo. Colour and colour blocking, fabric, sleeve length (short or long), collar type and pocket layout are agreed at the start of the order to suit your team's work; the model pictured is a starting point.
The logo is optional, and both embroidery and printing can be applied. Gabardine carries embroidery well; embroidery does not fade in the wash and looks corporate. For multi-colour or large logos, transfer / DTF printing is preferred.
- Left chest — the standard logo position; above the pocket flap or on the pocket
- Back — a wide area for a company name or large logo
- Sleeve — for a department or unit name
Our own design team prepares the model, colour and logo placement on a digital mock-up and sends it for your approval before production. For a comparison of methods, see our logo printing and embroidery methods guide.
Colours
The images show anthracite and navy models. Anthracite shows oil and dust the least; navy is the most common coverall colour for corporate teams. Production in your corporate colour is possible; for custom colours, quantity and lead time are planned separately.
Work Coverall Prices
The price of a short-sleeved work coverall cannot be given from a single list; fabric, colour, logo method (embroidery or print), number of logo positions and quantity are calculated together. The unit cost falls as quantity rises.
Enter your quantity in the calculator on this page to see the average unit price from 100 pieces, and request a net price for your organisation with the "Request a quote for this product" button on the same screen. In bulk coverall orders, colours and sizes can be split freely within the 100 pieces. The price structure is explained on our bulk logo workwear production from 100 pieces page.
Ordering and Sizing
A sizing mistake causes more problems in a coverall than in trousers: a coverall that is too short pulls at the shoulders and prevents crouching; one that is too long catches at the hem. That is why we also collect height measurements — size alone is not enough. For taking measurements, see our workwear size chart page.
Women's and men's patterns are developed separately. Size range XS–5XL, with larger special sizes.
The process: needs discussion → fabric and cut decision → physical sample → logo approval → production (15 working days) → shipping within Türkiye and abroad. Our minimum order is 100.
Frequently Ordered Together
- Cap with Logo — sun protection outdoors
- Polo Work Shirt — for the same team's office and visit days
- Short-Sleeved Work Shirt — for customer-facing technical service staff
All summer options are in the summer workwear category.
Care
- Wash at 40 °C, inside out, with the front fastening and pockets closed.
- Pre-treat oil and paint stains before washing.
- Empty the pockets; with many pockets on a coverall, forgotten items often turn up.
- Do not iron directly over embroidered or printed areas; iron from the reverse side at a low temperature.
For details, see our workwear care instructions page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Doesn't a coverall make you sweat in the heat?
Because it is one piece, no layer can be taken off; that is why the solution in a summer coverall is fabric and airflow — a lighter weave, ventilation at the back and underarms, and a roomy cut.
Can the product be customised for our company?
Yes. Colour, fabric, sleeve length, collar type and pocket layout are set for your company; a logo can also be added as an option.
Can the logo be embroidered?
Yes. The logo is optional and can be embroidered or printed. Gabardine carries embroidery well; printing is preferred for large, multi-colour logos.
Which colours do you make?
The images show anthracite and navy models; production in your corporate colour is also possible.
Can we give short sleeves to our welding team?
No. Sparks land directly on the arms. Welding and hot-work staff need long sleeves; for the note on certified protection, see our long-sleeved work coverall page.
Can short-sleeved and long-sleeved coveralls be ordered together?
Yes. Because the pattern and colour stay the same, a mixed order adds no extra cost.
What should we collect for sizing?
Size and height together. A height mistake in a coverall directly restricts crouching and reaching.
What do work coverall prices depend on?
Fabric, colour, logo method, number of logo positions and quantity. The calculator on the page shows the average unit price from 100 pieces.
What is your minimum order?
100 pieces. Colours and sizes can be split within that quantity.
