What Are Security Trousers?

Security trousers are the lower part of the uniform worn by staff working under Turkish Law No. 5188 on Private Security Services. Two things set them apart from ordinary cargo trousers: the pocket layout (radio, handcuffs, torch, pen) and the colour limit set by uniform regulations.

Mars Wear produces them at its own facility in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, for private security companies and in-house security units in batches starting from a minimum of 100 pieces, and ships within Türkiye and abroad.

The Regulation: What Article 22 Says, and What It Doesn't

Private security uniforms are governed by Article 22 of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Law on Private Security Services. Three provisions directly affect your purchasing decision:

• Colour, style and pattern limits. The uniform may not be in the colour, style or pattern used by the Turkish Armed Forces, the general law enforcement forces or special law enforcement forces established by law.
• Approving authority. The uniform and its accessories are submitted to the Commission for approval once specified by the in-house security unit. Uniforms to be used by private security companies are approved by the Ministry.
• A logo is mandatory. The uniform carries a name, emblem or logo identifying the company.

Let us underline the distinction: approval is given not to a fabric or a model but to your uniform file. No manufacturer can say "these trousers are 5188 approved" — and we don't. What we do is make your job easier when preparing your file: offer colour and cut options that stay within the similarity limit set by the regulation, and provide samples and a technical sheet for your approval process.

The third provision defines our core work. The logo is not an option but an element the regulation requires. Our own design team adapts your company logo for use on the uniform and applies it to the trousers in the right position with the right technique (embroidery or transfer print).

A Reflective Vest Is Mandatory at Night, at Sports Events and Concerts

The same article brings another obligation that most suppliers skip: private security officers wear, over their uniform, a vest with the reflective words "ÖZEL GÜVENLİK" (private security) on the back when on night duty, at sports competitions, concerts and stage shows.

So for a team with night shifts or event duties, trousers alone are not enough. We produce the reflective safety vest with the back lettering printed in the same order; this way the lettering and logo on the vest match the rest of the uniform.

Stretch and New-Style Cuts

For staff who stand for 8–12 hours on site, walk patrols and get in and out of vehicles, the cut is not just about comfort: a tight pattern restricts movement by the end of the day, and a baggy one spoils the look of the uniform.

• Stretch cut — elastane is added to the blend; when crouching, climbing stairs and driving, the fabric moves with the wearer. The choice of mobile patrol teams.
• New-style cut — a narrower leg, a flat front and a raised back waist. The waist does not gape when sitting, and the uniform keeps its look.
• Classic gabardine cut — regular fit, heavy and hard-wearing. Long-lasting for fixed-post duties such as access control and information desks.

Pocket Layout: Radio, Handcuffs, Torch

The real detail that sets security trousers apart from work trousers is the pocket layout. Our standard configuration:

• 2 side pockets — deep, with the opening stitched inwards
• 2 flapped back pockets — snap or hook-and-loop fastening
• 2 thigh (combat) pockets — left thigh for the radio, right thigh for handcuffs / torch
• 1 pen and card compartment — for incident reports and visitor passes

If your team carries different equipment, the number, depth and fastening of pockets can be changed. This is custom production, not a catalogue choice.

Colour Options

The sector's established choices are black and dark navy. Other dark shades such as anthracite and dark grey can also be produced; what decides it is that your chosen shade does not fall foul of the similarity limit above and passes the approving authority. When deciding on colour, we do Pantone matching for harmony with your existing top garments (jacket, shirt, vest).

Women's and Men's Patterns

In the same size, men's and women's patterns are not the same; producing with a single pattern cannot get the waist-to-hip ratio right for female staff. We develop both patterns separately. Size range XS–5XL; larger sizes are produced as special sizes.

3. Sample — a single sample both for your approval file and your own assessment.
4. Design approval — the logo position and technique are prepared by our design team; they go to cutting with your written approval.

Care

• Wash at 40 °C, inside out; close zips and snaps.
• Do not use bleach — it fades dark shades.
• If there is reflective tape, avoid fabric softener; over time it reduces the tape's reflectivity.
• Iron at a medium temperature, not over the reflective tape.
